Kerry was born in Cambridge, MA and spent his childhood in Central Oregon. He attended Central Oregon Community College and the University of Vermont (on a ski scholarship). After he and Terry married, they graduated from Oregon State University with degrees in zoology. They moved to Whatcom County where Terry’s family lived. They resided in the South Fork Valley for nearly 36 years where they raised their family. For most of his adult life, Kerry has worked with wood in one way or another. He spent summers logging in eastern Oregon, earning money for college. After graduation, he began a career in the woods that continues to this day.
After years of creating assorted gifts and useful items of wood, Kerry became interested in woodturning. In 2007, he built a lathe, made some tools, acquired some knowledge, and began turning bowls.
